This clamp is designed to clamp vessels and occlude blood flow during surgical procedures in many cases to prevent an excessive amount of blood loss from the patient. A unique feature of this clamp is the curved Cooley jaws that are calibrated at 50 mm intervals as well as the straight shanks. This instrument is available two sizes: small jaw with heavy curvature and large jaw with medium curvature.

Although this instrument does not have one particularly function but instead is a multi purpose clamp that can be used in a variety of different instances. The miniature size of this clamp makes it more able to reach certain vessels but also makes it better suited for use in smaller patients. This clamp comes equipped with jaws calibrated at 5 mm intervals and is available in three different angles 30, 60 and 90 degrees.

The unique "S" shaped curvature of the jaws makes it contoured to fit the unique curvature and shapes necessary of atraumatic clamping of vessels. Although this instrument could have a wide application on other vessels it is designed for use in clamping of the aorta.
