undefinedCeramic Cut Improved Rotating Kerrison Rongeurs provide all the benefits of the standard rotating shaft models, but with an improved release mechanism and shaft as well as black ceramic coating. The special tubular shaft can be rotated in 45-degree steps in 8 different locking positions, for a range of cutting angles. The shaft may only be released in 1 of the 8 positions, preventing accidental release during surgery. The shaft comes apart in 4 different pieces for easy cleaning and sterilization. In addition, the tubular shape of the shaft makes disassembly faster and cleaning easier, unlike traditional rongeurs which have two sliding (upper and lower) shafts. undefined Bi-Color Ceramic Cut Micro Kerrison Detachable Rongeurs feature a swing style shaft which opens up to allow easy cleaning of the shaft interior. Once the thumb release lever above the handle is depressed, the top portion of the cutting shaft unlocks and is able to be swung open, though it remains hinged. This prevents the risk of loss through separate parts. Bi-Color rongeurs feature a combination black and gold titanium nitride surface treatment, which hardens and protects the instrument body and cutting surface for a durable, smooth gliding action. These coated rongeurs do not need sharpening as often as traditional rongeurs, thus reducing operating costs and enhancing service life. The rongeur is a specialized instrument ideally suited for use in laminectomy procedures. It features small handles and thin footplate and is 40 degrees up which allows it to comfortably maneuver in the narrow spaces in and around the vertebral column. Laminectomies are performed for a number of reasons. Some include increased access to a particular region of the spinal cord by removing the vertebral arch of a series of vertebrae or to reduce pressure on a particular portion of the vertebral column. This instrument is available in 7", 8" or 9" as well as in a variety of bite widths and with or without an ejector making it highly versatile and well suited for a number of surgical scenarios.

undefined Bi-Color Ceramic Cut Bayonet Micro Kerrison Rongeurs retain all the features of traditional Micro Kerrison models with the added benefit of a bayonet-style shaft which allows for better visualization and access by the surgeon. This style is offered both with and without an ejector pin, depending on surgical preference. The black and gold titanium nitride surface treatment hardens and protects the instrument body and cutting surface for a durable, smooth gliding action. These coated rongeurs do not need sharpening as often as traditional rongeurs, thus reducing operating costs and enhancing service life.

Handle for Improved Rotating Kerrison Rongeurs come in both the stainless steel and ceramic coated finish. These handles are to be used in conjunction with the Improved Rotating Kerrison shafts, which are sold separately. The no-spring design handle design elimates the risk of broken springs or caught gloves.
