U.S. Army Pattern Chisel

6-1/4" (16.0 cm) US Army Pattern Gouge is a specialized instrument designed for removal of specific segments of bone. This gouge is designed similarly to a chisel but the blade portion features a curvature to it allowing it to be used to scoop up segments. The opposite end of this gouge has a rounded, flat end that can be used with a mallet to increase the driving force to effectively pierce through bone. This gouge is available in three sizes 6.0 mm, 12.0 mm and 18.0 mm making them well suited for larger bones in the spinal surgery and smaller ones for more delicate work on the skull.

This chisel features a long shaft and on one end features a blunt, flat end for hammering while the other a sharpened blade style end. The lack of a designed handle area increases the versatile of this instrument because it can be gripped in any way that makes the surgical maneuver the most effective. This chisel is available in six different sizes in 2.0 mm increments from 4.0 mm to 14.0 mm making it well suited for small and large tasks.

8" (20.0 cm) Smith Peterson Gouge is crafted for use in surgical procedures that require manipulation of bone such as scooping or creating a hole. This instrument can be used to increase access to the central soft tissue portion of the bone or in prepping bones from grafting. Uniquely this gouge features a rounded handle that increases gripping and allowing for firm handling and maneuverability. Additionally this instrument is available in either a straight or curved pattern and in seven sizes ranging in width from 6.0 mm to 30.00.

9-1/2" (24.0 cm) Hibbs Chisel is designed to scrape away and through bone to allow access to the surgical field. This chisel is designed to cleanly and effectively make cuts in bone without causing splintering and damage to surrounding areas. This instrument features a strong geometric shaped handle that tapers into a narrow neck and widens again to create a chisel head. The chisel also features a sharpened end for increased effectiveness in bone manipulation. This instrument is available in ten different sizes ranging from 6.0 mm to 38.0 mm making it well suited for use in small delicate areas as well as in larger bony areas.
