This aluminum spreader has two arms which seamlessly transition into the attached blade structures. The arm and blade design on this instrument give the blades more length than traditionally thus transferring the pressure over a larger surface area and causing less deformity in smaller patients delicate structures. This instrument is ideally used in cardiothoracic surgeries to create and maintain a space between the ribs to allow clear access to the surgical field. These spreaders come with a traditional slight curvature to the arms giving them a contour that allows a more secure fit and hold. Additionally, this instrument is available in three sizes with varying spread 6", 8" and 10".
