These holes can be used for increased access to underlying tissue such as in craniotomies or in areas such as the arm or leg to create access for pins or wires. A unique aspect of this instrument is that it is handheld and can be cranked manually. This is available as a complete set including a drill and two bits or each portion is available individually.

McKenzie Drill Bit 1/2" (13.0 mm) McKenzie Drill bit is a unique instrument that can be used in conjunction with a drill to enlarge and create holes in bone. Specifically this can be useful in craniotomies and other neurosurgical procedures that require access through the bony skull to the soft underlying brain tissue. The head of this bit is similar to a typical spiral cut drill bit and easily penetrates bone.

Ralks Drill cannulated, 3 jaw stainless steel chuck, accepts wires & pins up to 1/4" (6.3 mm), aluminum body Ralks Drill is designed for use in penetration of bone in a variety of procedures orthopedic and neurosurgical. This drill features an aluminum body which makes it lightweight and easy to manipulate without causing strain or fatigue. Additionally it is canulated and features a 3 jaw stainless steel chuck. The cannulated design allows for wires and pins up to 6.3 mm to be threaded through it. This instrument is available as a drill and chuck key or just with the chuck key only.

A drill can be used to start a pilot hole which can then be further enlarged via use of a burr. This instrument can e used in procedures such as craniotomies which require access through the bony skull down to the softer brain tissue. This instrument features a 14.0 mm diameter.
