This instrument is best used when more access is needed below the ribs and functions to create and maintain adequate access to the surgical field. This rib spreader has two arms, one of which can be adjusted to create the best fitting spread distance, as well as windowed blades to maintain uniform pressure over a larger surface area to reduce strain on the patient.

This instrument features two arms which each have one windowed blade extending from them to allow a securing fit throughout the procedure.
